AEM ALTERNATOR PULLEY PROBLEM?

I installed my AEM alternator and power steering pulley no problems. Then noticed if i sit in my car @ idle for an extensive amount of time the clock light starts to dim and then the car will not start without a jump. is this a commom problem?

I dont have anything such as a system that would be drawing a substantial amount of power from the battery or anything. Just a normal Kenwood cd player.
