Re: Oil Pump Noise! 5th Gen
The noise sounds more like the timing belt tensioner, but you've definitely got oil pressure issues. Also not a good idea to rev it like that. Just because you've got enough pressure to turn the light off, it's probably not the proper pressure to match the RPM

Re: Oil Pump Noise! 5th Gen
Saturday I will be getting a new oil pump in. i did so much research ,oil pump is right behind the timing belt but its not the belt im pretty sure. the gears on the oil pump i believe could be causing that noise.
My car is now on stand by mode hahaha i don't want to move it, afraid i will mess the whole block if oil is not getting around right. On the first video i rev it up so the light can come on so i cans how you guys. but i had to drive it a bit. which shows on the second vid how it flickers and all.

Re: Oil Pump Noise! 5th Gen
I know its been a while but was the oil pump the cause of the whining? My prelude started doing it after 5spd swap... changed power steering and serpentine already hopping it would fix it, i dont really want to change my timing belt since it was change a couple weeks before the swap.
