Possible blown head gasket!?

So my 5th gen started running hot yesterday getting close to the redzone on the temp gauge. took it into the honda dealreship and they said it could be a possible air pocket from the radiator or a blown head gasket. the cars running fine after they bleeded the air pocket out of my radiator. they told me to keep an eye on the temp... i drove it to work which is over 22+ mile drive and gauge stayed in the middle... should i be worried?

Re: Possible blown head gasket!?

I overheated my lude like 5 months ago and had to replace my whole coolant system basically. After i did that it ran fine for about 2 months and then i started to have starting issues and i just replaced my head gasket (along with getting a new head :D ). So even if its running fine for the time being you might start to have issues in the near future. If you do have any issues starting it soon i would go straight to replacing the head gasket i wouldnt waste any time and money replacing other things. At least thats what i would do based on my personal experience

Getting an air pocket in the coolant system would give you that exact problem with that very solution. I wouldn't be too worried, but at the same time I would still keep an eye on the temp gauge, and also when you have the heat on that you still have heat and that there is no white steam coming out of the exhaust after car is warmed up because depending on how hot and for how long it was over heated you could run the risk of blowing the head gasket.

yea, it was an air pocket. they bled it out. i guess the engine is designed with a way to bleed the air out. problem solved.

Nothing to worry about except whether or not that chick gave you herpes.

Good luck!
