Re: just finished engine swap and no spark??

Where is that located at? And would that not let spark get to the plugs when I check it?

Re: just finished engine swap and no spark??

As a matter of fact check all your grounds. The big ones I can think of are: battery to transmission housing, wiring harness to thermostat housing (between the throttle body and valve cover, kinda underneath the EGR and stuff), battery to body ground, and valve cover to motor mount.

Are you sure you got the distributor setup right? Depending on which model Prelude you were swapping into, and what motor you swapped in, you may have needed to change some wiring, change coil from internal to external (or vice versa), or any number of things.

Provide more details and we can help better.

What year is your car? What year is the motor that you just swapped into the car?

Hmm. All your ignition wires on tightly? Got the wire from ignition coil to distributor on nice and tight?

Re: just finished engine swap and no spark??

Wires from your distributor to your spark plugs. That's what I meant sorry.

Battery in good condition? Starter in good condition? If you have a semi-dead battery, it could crank but not give you spark. If you have a bad starter solenoid it could keep juice from getting to the ignition coil and prevent you from getting spark. If all that stuff is fine, I would say there was one (or more) things you forgot to plug in, or some wiring is incorrect somewhere in the system.

Have you checked all your fuses?

Re: just finished engine swap and no spark??

Battery and starter are brand new

Spark plug wires are all tight

I'm going to check all my fuses and the one ground that I'm not to sure if I connected it.
The plugs aren't getting any spark when I touch it to metal and my buddy turns the key

Re: just finished engine swap and no spark??

Ok, no offence but if all your old engine needed was a new water pump why didn't you just change your water pump and timing belt instead of doing a swap?

Anyway, DBD has you going in the right path. Make sure are your wire harness plugs are connected. Double check EVERYTHING.

Re: just finished engine swap and no spark??

@ HardKnoxBB2 the only reason i swapped out the motor was because i found one with less miles for a decent price. And i also need a hood and front bumper and i found someone to trade the old motor to and get a hood and bumper. And no offense taken.

Re: just finished engine swap and no spark??

Firing order 1-3-4-2

At least thats what it is on the H22a4. Dunno what engine you have.

Should be 1-3-4-2 or it could be 1-3-2-4. Those are your choices.

when looking at the face of the dizzy that the wires come off of, the wires should go to:

3 4
1 2
