car has new battery and no power at all.

So my car got stolen and I just it it back a week ago and it had no battery in it. I got a new battery in it and had to push start it to get it home. After getting it home and turning it off it would not start again. When you turn the key it has power but when I try to start it nothing happens and then it doesn't even have power anymore. What could be my problem? Bad started? Alternator? Or could it even be a fuse? Any help would be great! And its a 93 prelude s. Thanks.

Glad to hear you got it back, hope they didn't do too much damage to it.

Do you know how they started it to steal it? I'm going to take a wild guess and say they probably damaged the Ignition switch???

Also check the wiring to the starter, you could try hot-wiring it to see if the starter still works.

Re: car has new battery and no power at all.

I had that prob awhile back.

IT's no biggie. The prob is that the new batt you bought prob sat in the store or warhouse for awhile n that it jus needs like a quick charge to get the charges in the batt circulating again.

When I bought a neew batt they explained to me what I jus stated and was told to jus go to AUTOZONE or PEPBOYS and have them quick charge it.

They quick charge for about 30min for free or if you like they overnight charge for free at Autozone!!!

That'll recirculate the charges and then you're good to go!!

replace the cables if they are that corroded. If you reuse them they will do it again.
