Twin Turbo Questions

Ok if I drop a turbo on my 00 Prelude, and it gives my a 40-60% horsepower gain, that would pyut me right around to 300 mark in horsepower. My question however is, if I put an ADDITIONAL turbo, making it a twin, would that yield ANOTHER 40-60% horsepower gain? Or would it be less? 450 sounds ALOT better than 300 lol.

Re: Twin Turbo Questions

Going turbo is alittle more involved than "if I slap one on I get this much more horsepower."
better start reading up.

Re: Twin Turbo Questions

Haha i gotta give you some props man. I see that every once and a while... people getting burned for no reason at all. The only reason I use this forum is to have my questions answered. There is a lot of knowledge here. So, why cant you ask a simple question. Im curious too, and would a twin turbo setup even fit?

Re: Twin Turbo Questions

Anything is possible, but twin turbo is impractical for our cars. Even most Supra guys dump their twin turbos for one big one. Two little turbos can make the power transition smoother, but one big one makes for more power. Neither setup is simple. A modest setup will be 250whp max

Re: Twin Turbo Questions

He burned you because 1. A twin setup would never fit in a prelude unless you want to run the smallest turbos in the world (see: snail) and 2. nobody can answer your question because 'slapping on a turbo' doesn't yield 40-60% power increase. We would have to know size of the turbo, and what PSI you plan to run it at.

First you find a power goal, THEN you decide on a turbo best suited for it.

'450 sounds a lot better than 300. lol'

Do your research before you ask an ignorant question.

Re: Twin Turbo Questions

'slapping a turbo on' is just terminology dude. I was asking a general question... I didnt ask if it would fit. I asked if a twin setup would stack with the HP gains. You trying to burn me would have been successful if I had specified a size and then my HP gain percentages were off or something like that, but that isn't what I said or asked so stop trying to be a know-it-all prick. It was a general question bro. Calm down. Its a forum....

Re: Twin Turbo Questions

Bro listen to what ur saying. Ppl are trying to give u sound advice/info and ur bein a dick about it. U CAN NOT say ull gain X% of hp by puttin a turbo on ur car. The amount of power gain is determined by the size of the turbo/supporting mods/tuning/etc. And as previously stated a twin setup is damn near impossible on our cars (unless u have a grip load of money in which case anything is possible) not to mention very VERY impractical. Don't get upset when ppl answer ur ridiculous and uneducated questions with real, true, and smartass answers. Do some research before asking things like that if u don't want to be ridiculed for ridiculous questions.

Re: Twin Turbo Questions

This isn't flaming, this is a noob getting butt hurt because he can't take constructive criticism. You've asked a very impractical question and termed it like a high schooler. Honestly, what did you expect? More research is your best advice. Spoon feeding obviously isn't our style (note, the only people on your side are generally noobs as well). Now, chill out; stop getting all upset because you're being criticized. Then I'm sure you'll see the astonishing amount of knowledge available on here.

Re: Twin Turbo Questions

Ok I apologize for being 'ignorant' or whatever the **** you want to call it. Get off it. I dont mind constructive criticism and the only reason I quoted 40-60% is because that was what I was told by the guys at TDC that have done all the work on my car. My apologies, once again, for putting faith in what the said.

Re: Twin Turbo Questions

Well I think you got an answer anyways. If not, I'm not really sure how to answer it unless you feel like rephrasing it.

For the record, you can edit your posts via a little red button near the bottom right of the post itself. That way you don't have to create addition posts. Sorry it seems like our forum is full of dicks, but it gets better with time, I promise

Re: Twin Turbo Questions

Negative Ghostrider. No rephrasing necessary. I think this whole thread would have gone alot better had i researched the numbers they gave me before asking the question lol. And btw, I am going to get up some pictures of the Recaro babyseat that i got for my little girl soon! Hopefully it will get a couple laughs haha

Re: Twin Turbo Questions

I didn't really mean to come off as a dick so much, but there are quite a few noobs who get on here and literally think they can "slap on" a turbo like it's a bolt on mod and then they go around posting as such without reading any of the helpful stickied threads this forum has in every section. that's where your first post sounded like it was going. I mean, everyone's a noob at some point but at least try and learn and help yourself (that was not necessarily directed towards you just making a generalization.)

Re: Twin Turbo Questions

twin turbos will never work, unless like mentioned before, you run the smallest turbos in the world, plus i guess you would build it yourself? considering no one make a TT kit/setup for the prelude. And why is it that people think more turbos equal more power? More turbos= more money, problems and usually a blown engine if you dont know what your doing. Buy a decent turbo and piece together your own setup+tune+engine build....blah blah blah you need to read up on this stuff.

Re: Twin Turbo Questions

The whole smallest turbos in the world thing is TOTALLY irrelevant.

Short answer: you can use one turbo to exceed the amount of boost an h22 can realistically handle so 2 is unnecessary.

Re: Twin Turbo Questions

top-mounted twin-turbo setup on the h22 = WIN !!!
.. this would have to be done soley for originality purposes and not to gain more horsepower. .. with enough money and fabrication skills this would be possible. I'de actually love to see something like this happen in the near future.

No offense to ya dude, but you'll never get anywhere calling someone a prick, well u will get somewhere, where u are now with 500 thousand flames and running.. When you get your car ready to turbo, then ask if u should "slap" or "throw" or "kick-a" or "free throw shoot" a double turbo in your car :D
