Distributor question

I bought a new distributor from a guy today and he said he bought it for his 98 prelude h22a4 but never installed it. I have a 97 prelude h22a4. When i got to the wire harnesses the first one plugged in just fine. The second one looked nothing like the harness from my stock distributor and wouldnt plug in. There are 4 wires going into this harness on my old stock distributor. The new one has 8 wires going into this harness. Has anyone had this problem? Is there any way i can solder the wires and make it work?

Re: Distributor question

could be jdm. your stock distributor had 5 holes for the ignition wires to plug into right? (the small one going to the coil) does your new distributor have only 4 holes?

Re: Distributor question

Sounds like you have internal coil on the original and external for what you just purchased. Pics would probably help.
