Fuel injectors help!

So my car is having problems giving gas so it wont start. I took out my injectors and cleaned them out. I took out one of the fuel lines (the one of the left of the fuel rail next to piston 4) and put the key on ignition on and no gas came out. So i put everything back, i touched the injector wire on cylinder 1 and i heard a click (like if connection was made) and then i heard fuel move threw the hose/line... And the car started up fine.

Drove around for like 10 minz and the car turned off on me, it wasnt giving gas... Can it be the fuel injectors themselves or the wire/connectors that clip on to the fuel injector?? and do they really sell those connectors at auto stores??

Re: Fuel injectors help!

if no gas came out of the supply line after the filter while you had the key on then its probably either a severely clogged fuel filter or the fuel pump is going out, could also be a fuse (your fuel pump fuse is under the dash on the driver side)...or (and this would be funny) you're out of gas lol. but i figure if it ran for 10 minutes thats not the case. Check your fuel pump relay too.

Lol, i have a full tank so it cant be that.... but yea ima replace my fuel pump relay.. and if that dont work then the fuel pump

But why when i touch the connector cable on the first injector i heard a clicking noise like it made electrical contact, then thats when i heard fuel move thru the line? could it be the connectors i have to replace??

Re: Fuel injectors help!

well before you just go out and by a new fuel pump relay, get some on to come out there with you and turn the key on while you have ur ear next to your gas fill neck, you should be able to hear the fuel pump come on when the key is turned on, if you hear it turn on then your relay is in good shape, but that doesn't mean that your fuel pump is good...i'm almost positive the problem is the pump, but get someone to come out there with you and check if it comes on first before you buy a relay. if the injectors were not connected it wouldn't stop fuel from coming through the supply line, but it would stop fuel from being sprayed into the intake port to your cylinder, if you notice a misfire after you get the fuel pump problem taken care of, that would be one of the things to check, along with checking your plugs and wires, compression, vacuum leaks, timing...stuff like that

Re: Fuel injectors help!

sounds like fuel pump to me. to check if relay is working:
grab a test light and see if you have power at the black/yellow stripe wire at the pump plug.

Re: Fuel injectors help!

Okay, the fuel injectors activate when the ECU makes the ground, telling that specific injector to pulse. Check your connections and verify that the wires are connected well.

Also, the fuel relay is not the issue, nor the pump, as they are not sporadic operators. If they had an issue its not going to let you start the car, ever. (Fuse 4under the dash on drivers side, is the Relay Power, check it)

I have no power to the relays, the engine light stays on. I think it's a bad ECU but not sure how to tell. Help!!!

Re: Fuel injectors help!

thank you all for ya comments.. I finally found the problem... the ground wire that comes from the fuel injectors, that screw, was loose. So it wasnt making contact so it was getting ground.. I tightened the screw, turn the key to ignition 2, CEL came out for 2 seconds, the it started right up! :-)

1 screw caused all this crap that had me on train for 3 months, SMH
