i found a cheaper prelude. can someone check if it's a good deal? http://www.preludezone.com/general-t...0-prelude.html

I'm buying a 2000 Prelude SH with 125k miles. The car looks clean.

is $6000 really worth the price? its below kbb value...

Re: $6000 for a 2000 prelude?

that's a little above average in terms of cost. but if you find a clean (good carfax, maintained, aesthetically pleasing) car, you should buy it.

good luck.

Re: $6000 for a 2000 prelude?

It seems a teeny bit on the high side. In the last few years our cars have taken a big dive in resale value....that being said, a good solid, clean car is worth the investment. One thing I do like, and this may sound dumb. VTEC is spelled properly. That is usually the first sign of an idiot and no one wants to buy a car from an idiot.

Re: $6000 for a 2000 prelude?

car looks like its in good condition. make sure you drive it and get the carfax report. Also make sure the timing belt/water pump has been replaced, because that can take you an extra $500 job after you get it.

there is no way you will ever get 12k for your car bud. Unless it has 500 original miles and tons of mods and even still than that's pushing it. Its 10+ years old.

@nevrdun, huh?

This car has a clean carfax, looks clean too. Probably will ask about the mechanics of the car before buying. 5k sounds reasonable.

I'm mainly lookin' for a prelude to drive around temporary and maybe have it as a project car

thanks all for the replies

Oem lip all around, depo headlights. not bad at all. You could probably get a few hundred dollars off since that mileage is pretty high for the value.

I don't know where your from........but it must not be on this planet if you think someone will give you 12 G's for your lude! Unless it has like 30,000 miles on it and in show condition with a turbo, keep dreaming. I bought mine for $3,200.

I think $6,000 it a little much, but I did see a real nice black SH with 75,000 miles a while back that was going for $6,500, and it was probably worth it. Show them 5 grand cash and see if they bite. When they see the money in front of there eyes its easier to close the deal.

Re: $6000 for a 2000 prelude?

well like most everyone else said, just seems a little high, i would have to have carfax, history of service records and everything else man. and even then maybe still a little too much, just because of the miles. but its ur money and ur car and you just gotta trust ur gut about it. Good luck to ya man

Re: $6000 for a 2000 prelude?

Just an off topic reply to the guys that are tellin me im full of **** but this may surprise you to know there are other countries in this world besides the USA.

Car prices also vary from area to area and cars in good condition w decent mileage and no to few mods are listed for 12 to 14k in the area i happen to live

a beat to **** high mileage one would be listed at 5 or 6k

in another province i know of one poor guy had trouble finding a decent lude for under 14k

I could quite realistically expect to get between 10 and 12 for my car depending on the buyer and time of year

I dont like to be rude but kindly stop and think about the fact that where you live is not the entire world before telling me im an idiot

sry for bad punctuation im on my phone

well said. people seldom ask the right questions before flaming people, I'm guilty of it myself at times. If we inquired into things further, flaming would be virtually non-existent

Sorry I have a tough time buying the idea your 10+ year old car is worth 12k. Unless your overseas in europe, these cars are not that rare. Post up a kbb value for your area or some classifieds.
