Re: Is this a good deal?

If you're getting it to just simply replace the stock exhaust manifold, go for it. If you're looking for HP/TQ gains, save the money and put it towards a Hytech replica or something along those lines.

As far as the Megan company goes, I don't have any of their products on my car, but I've never heard a single complaint about any of their stuff.

Should come with a gasket for free.

Re: Is this a good deal?

ya im more just wanting to replace the stock manifold and down pipe-
im assuming there would be a small gain but i dont expect anything dramatic...right?

Ive always worked on my own engines but in all honestly just with stock components- so i dont really know what to expect other than it will NOT be like the ones i see on ebay
"bolt on! +22HP!!!!!!!!!" at least this is A name brand right?

Re: Is this a good deal?

You will probably see a horsepower gain between 2 hp and -5 hp...

I would just take off your heat shield and wrap your stock header.

Re: Is this a good deal?

thats cool, sounds about like what i expected & not bad for under 100 bucks - but about the heat wrap i just read this article Century Performance Center, Inc. :: Exhaust Header Heat Wraps - DO NOT USE
talks about how nascar USED to use them but do not anymore and how header manufacturers do not promote the practice of installing these wraps directly on the headers any longer

also brings out that the wraps are good to protect various 'items' from heat, but not to hold the heat in the header. For example: you can use the wrapping for the protection of fuel and oil lines, wiring, covering a starter motor, etc.

i dunno if this is 100% correct but worth a read for those interested

PS- guess i should have mentioned that these headers were never installed so they are like brand spanking new ill put that in my first post

Re: Is this a good deal?

Its just a stock replacement. It'll look shiny and new for a little while but thats it. You wont see any gain. If your looking to dress up your engine bay a little bit then i say do it!
