Prelude Problems

Ok so far ive had my Prelude for around 4 months and ive had nothing but problems, when i got the car the dude lied and said i just needed to take off the aicv valve on the throttle body and clean it and it would idle fine, so i tried that and it didnt work, so then i went and got a new one and that didnt fix it either, and advanced auto parts wouldnt take it back because it had antifreeze on it and something about chemical hazards, so there was 250 dollars gone, I finally figured out what it is after someone told me to put my finger over the vaccum hole in the throttle body and then i fixed the culprit the fitv. So then after driving it a week i noticed that randomly when i pressed the gas the car would like buck, and 2 weeks later it threw a timing belt, after the changed timing belt, the whole engine being rebuilt, new water pump, new temp sensors, new dissy, new coolant, new oil pan, fixed exhaust leak and a new half shaft boot, I get the car back after it sat in the shop for 2 months and 2150 dollars later only to find out its running extremly hot, Turns out the 45 dollar thermostat i bought for the car and told the guy to put in, didnt get put in, instead he returned mine and bought a thermostat that keeps the car at 220 degrees? (wtf water boils at 212 roughly) and he lied to me and told me he put mine in, but then later on he told me that when he shot my car with the infrared thermometer to find out why it was running so hot he told me it was running at 220 degrees and there is no hot spots on the engine and it would be fine. Well i thought it might be fine until i have steam coming from underneath my hood. so i added more water to the coolant because it was low, and since i got my car back when i press the gas pedal the car still bucks and now when it does it my lights in my climate control and around that area dim and brighten when the car bucks, i have no idea what the problem is or where to start, my cars throwing a code 9(#1cylinder position sensor) and i have no idea how to fix that either, im broke as hell, i cleaned out my 200 dollars in my savings account and my college account for 1700 and my mom loaned me money to finish paying the guy for his "repairs" so i have no money to fix anything, so my problems are the car is lurching back and forth when i press the gas, sometimes it does it sometimes it doesnt, and its throwing a code 9 and i dont know where that part is or how to fix it, someone help please i have a 93 prelude 2.3l si 4ws, this is my first car and my pride and joy, can anyone help me and give me ideas on how to fix these two problems thank you in advance

Re: Prelude Problems

That code9 could've been caused by the shop when they did ur timing. Try reseting the check engine light to see if it comes back on. U can disco ur bat for a couple hours do this.

Re: Prelude Problems

Crank Sensor not picking up TDC on Cyl #1? Otherwise check timing belt on correct, or possibly it overheated and blew a head gasket when it was running hot.
