Help asap, smoke coming out of cluster?

I just tried to change my gauge cluster color with LEDS. I got the tri power leds and after installing everything, I turned the parking lights on as instructed and then no lights came on, but smoke started coming out of my cluster. What do i do now? How do i fix this?

I replaced it back with the original bulbs and now my guage cluster has NO light at all. I looked at the Daylight fuse by drivers side and there was none in it the whole time, but I put a new one in and it still didnt work.

Re: Help asap, smoke coming out of cluster?

you let the magic smoke out of an circuit component... ie: you shorted a circuit. If you pull the cluster out and start investigating I am willing to bet you will see a brown/black board somewhere.

get pics of the burnt area and we will see what can be done.

Congrats!!! the board is shall I say.... Toast? Hopefully someone on here will be able to remedy your situation. Don't worry I cant see how fast im going or my rmpm's as my el cluster back lighting is shot. Soon I will be taking it out and try to put some led's in there. (hopefully my inverter isn't shot)

Re: Help asap, smoke coming out of cluster?

I took pictures but they're not very clear. But I noticed the burnt part. its supposed to be a flat copper color line and burnt there and its not even connect there because the copper stuff burnt off. So how do I fix this exactly and prevent it from happening again? Or was it just chance that happened?

Re: Help asap, smoke coming out of cluster?

Anyone have any idea how to fix a short/burnt circuit on that circuit board behind the gauge cluster? I'm trying to get it fixed before it gets really dark.
I read online how to fix the ones with wires, but its like a layer of copper here instead..

Re: Help asap, smoke coming out of cluster?

your pics didnt work.. you need to use a service lke photo bucket and then paste the IMG tags...

you can use a piece of stranded copper wire to jump the burnt spot... just strip the ends , flay out and solder to the copper that is there... do NOT use a lot of heat.

but my concern is... what REally caused it to burn?

Finally an answer! THANK YOU! I asked so many stores around me and they said they don't know how or they'll only replace it.
Figured it wouldn't upload, I was on a guest comp, couldn't do anything.

Heres the left side of the back:

Heres a zoom up of the burnt circuit path (it says T6.5 directly over it):

p.s you meant flat out right? not flay or am I missing something here?

Re: Help asap, smoke coming out of cluster?

Also I did drop one of the bulbs into the cluster by accident. Couldn't get it back out and am scared to fiddle with it. How should I safely go about opening it?

Re: Help asap, smoke coming out of cluster?

so I just soldered a 12v copper wire to both of those broken paths and it was really difficult and i think i ****ed it up. some of the plastic burnt and i put the cluster back in and when i turned on parking lights, a very small quiet beeping sound came on. and the other lights slightly flickered when turned on. im going to take the wires off for now
