Mazda RX7

so. as yall very well prolly know. if yall have looked at any of my other threads.
i have a 3rd gen that is currently taking a dump in my driveway. have a JDM B20A in right now but seem to be making no progress with the problems.

so i have decided, not to move on, but to get another car in the meantime.
i have been searching Craigslist and found a 1985 RX7 on there. stock except for header. 98K no rust. etc etc.
i am going to look wednesday =) i am actually really excited. it is going to be weird driving something other than my prelude. but i gotta do what i gotta do. i am in no way giving up on my lude. i love her way to much. but i just need me a DD. and an RX7 seems to fit the picture the best =P
i will keep everyone posted on the progress on the lude. i may even pull the bastard B back out and build-n-boost it. or i might try and get me an H22. build it. and boost it and then buy a shell and drop her into a 3G

i get a hard-on just thinking about a boosted H22 swapped 3g.
haha.
well yeah. thats the game plan for right now
what yall think?

Good luck!

Re: Mazda RX7

that is digging yourself into a hole. you do NOT daily drive those type of cars.

if you need a DD it doesnt have to be flashy or fast..its a DD...my suggestion look for a civic 4dr, altima, etc...

Re: Mazda RX7

Seriously. 2001 sentras are worth every penny. from the factory: platinum plugs, timing chain, not belt great torque curve and great gas milage, were talking about 26 city, 32 highway. I loved my b15 sentra and now they're easy to buy. talking about 1500 bucks for low miles average. thats a DD.

Re: Mazda RX7

yeah. but i also want something nice to tinker with. i have my prelude. thats what i want to essentially be my DD. i found a rx7 for 1800 talked the guy to around 1500 and would like to make that my project. after i get my prelude back on the road. honestly if i get like a civic or 'yota. or osmething. it would be a waste in a way, since i already have a low mileage prelude that only needs an oil pump and intake cleaned...

Re: Mazda RX7

What are these different options? Yes they are cheap dds, but they have to be reliable. You will never have to spend money on a tune up or open the dohc cover to do a belt. Ever. That's 350-400$ saved every 60k, no bad timing, no surprises. And if you get the SE2.0 trim, you get the sr20 that you can swap the bluebird sr20det engine in. Then leave your prelude alone. Trust me when I say I'm cheap. And that is the cheapest route.

Re: Mazda RX7

Just a quick drop by here. My dad drives the same stuff and last week told me to look for air filter for his drive and luckily found in a site thepartsbin.com. that was the first time i made a buy in this shop and from my own point of view they're reputable...they also offer other Mazda parts and accessories. you are free to visit their site as you wish.
