Vti-R redline

The tachometer shows that the redline is at 7400 rpm. But mine goes up to 8200 rpm. Is this normal?

Have you actually hit the limiter? My 5G's limiter is at 5800.

Yeah, when i accel VTEC kicks in at 5200 and the goes all the way to 8200 where the limiter stops it going any further.

Re: Vti-R redline

What is "limp mode"?
I thought it might be the tachometer is out. But VTEC engages at the same amount of revs as is specified.

Re: Vti-R redline

my H22A will red line at 7200 but only when the engines not warmed up, when its warm it will red line at 8200. i always let me car warm for about 15min before i drive it, only because its winter.

Re: Vti-R redline

Unless you have a heavily worked engine and a stand alone ECU your engine can not rev to 8200rpm. The valve springs will fail before it gets there. The dash mounted tach is not accurate enough to base an arguement on.

The factory fuel cut is around 7850(IIRC).
