Icon9 Water found in my trunk during the rain. HELP

So today after the rain had settled down i opened my trunk and looked into the spare tire area and found water inside. seems like it has happened before in the past. Mind you i just bought the car from one of those shady ass mom and pop dealers. Any idea where the leak may be? do i need to get new weather stripping? If so how much does that cost?

Re: Water found in my trunk during the rain. HELP

I'd check to make sure the sunroof drain isn't clogged, the trunk weatherstripping, and most importantly the taillight gaskets

you bought an old car dude, things are going to happen. do what ups said, take the tail lights off and check the condition of the gaskets, most likely the culprit.

Mine leaks where the antenna goes into the trunk area. I've yet to fix it.

Re: Water found in my trunk during the rain. HELP

When i first got my 4th gen i had the same problem. I jus took and small drill bit and made like 4 small holes where the spare tire is... now all the water drains out, no more water puddles in my trunk lol

Pop out the rubber plugs in the spare tire compartment. Every Honda I've ever been in had that problem.

i havent taken the tailouts out yet. but i did manage to drain the damn thing. tomorrow that will be what il do. i think i also found an air leak on the passenger side where water might be seeping through. makes a whistling sound while im driving and my girl complains of her ass getting wet from the seats.

Re: Water found in my trunk during the rain. HELP

I had the same issue, I never figured out how the water got there. I just took out the plugs that were in the spare tire area. Im not sure if the 5gs have them, but if not you could always drill a hole or something to drain it. Its worked out fine for me.
