ignition upgrade

im looking to upgrade my distributer cap and wires. i have a msd ignition control module, and msd coil. my friend works at a performance shop and he told me that i should get either 8 or 9 guage spark plug wires but i cant find that size anywhere online. if anyone knows where i can get them let me know, also with the cap idk what brand i should get, should i go with msd or something else?

since u have a msd setup, might as will get msd wires. i think they make 8.5mm for our cars

When are people going to realize that the stock ignition is more than enough until you hit serious HP numbers?

I do not understand why people dump so much money in their ignition when it isn't needed. Now if you can get better parts for the same price then great but I see people spend big money on their ignition system when it isn't necessary.

I wasn't trying to be a dick. Sorry if it seemed like it.

I know you are working on turboing your car, so, I understand why you are doing everything you are doing, to a point, but what I said is still in play.

I completely understand your logic 01, but from what I have seen, lots of people experience reliability problems when they upgrade to top end MSD ignition components. The stock ignition is plenty for even most FI cars, until you start getting into the 5-600 HP range.
