Icon8 GOD DAMMITTT!!!! car just died

i was driving to wendy's like 10 minutes away from my house... car just dies and battery and oil light come on. check oil.. good.
waited a couple minutes, she started back up, tried driving 3 feet... same exact thing.
started her up, touched the gas.... dies.

then my boy w/ a SR20 240 shows up, we push her into a parking lot, look everything over, and it looks fine. then we notice we can't hear the fuel pump priming when turning the key to "on"

got her towed back to my house (only 5 miles away so i gave him $12 with tip. not too shabby)
gonna look her over tomorrow and check out this almost BRAND NEW walbro FP

I used to get the check engine light for crank sensor when I changed over to my lightweight flywheel and stage one clutch.

that crank sensor code is coming up because of your fuel pump I bet.


don't tell you boosted the car on stock fuel pump? I don't care if it can handle up 300hp. you shouldve done that while doing your build. but you live and learn. I'm glad it wasn't something worse.

so i followed the manual and checked the crankshaft position sensor, top dead center sensor, and cylinder position sensor, ALL in the distributor w/ a multimeter, and they all came out to 0 ohms, but i'm hoping this is due to what Ace said, its due to the faulty F.P.

then my boy w/ the 240 is a mechanic and he came over with his testing equipment and said my fuel pump is DEF shot. its a walbro 255 btw, not stock . and since it looked all shiny and new i ASSUMED it was brand new, but it came with the entire USED turbo kit, so it most likely was used.

time to order a newww oneeeee

ssoooo i know i posted in here the other day saying i had a stock fuel pump on my TURBO car and guess what... i jinxed myself... haha

for the past 2 weeks since ive been driving my car again (i was driving my b/fs infinity for a month) it would have a hard time starting... it was turning over but it would take a couple or few seconds to actually start... well yesterday i tried to start it and nope... nothing... then i checked to see if i could hear anything around the fuel tank... bingo... fuel pump gone lol

oh well i got it towed to my mechanic and hes putting the new walbro 255 on there tomorrow... anyways... thought id share my lame sadness lol

i threw the new walrbo in yesterday... and she runs like a champ now!! finally starts up on the first crank, not the 5th!



but still gettin the crankshaft position sensor CEL

anywho... i just got my car back tonight... blah high flow fuel pump... bmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm AT EVERY LIGHT!!! lol

ok but i had a problem... i went to put gas in it and when i tried to start it up it took about 4 tries... does it gotta get a little broken in or something?

well it had already been started a few times with the new pump... it was just right after i put gas in her :( and thats whhen it started acting like my old pump was going out! blaaah lol

but ill try it if it happens again... thanks :)

while i was waiting on the FP, i hairsprayed all my IC piping couplings (sorry mom ), and tightened the manifold down a tad more just to make sure there were no boost leaks... and now i'm seeing 2 more pounds of boost

so she's at a grand total of like 5.9 psi right now. trying to figure out where that last pound is going!!

Have you been able to "isolate" the area its leaking? I would suggest checing the injector O-rings and make sure the fuel rail is firmly installed. Where is the hose for the WG feeding off from, turbo compressor housing or the IM itself?

yea a good amount was leaking from between the manifold and the head, til i tightened it down. i'll check the injectors and fuel rail, see if anythings loose.

when i first started my street tune, the WG hose was going to the turbo, then my tuner suggested going to the IM, so we did that and noticed an increase in almost 1 pound. so now its Tee'd into the PCV hose

Send a message via AIM to ogsmakdade
Before you start the car, give the fuel pump a few seconds to prime itself. Turn the key, wait until you hear the pump priming, you should be able to hear it, then start the motor. It should fire up every time.
