smoke after EGR delete

hey guys, i just did an egr delete at my work today, and had all the parts necessary. fairly simple install, but after installing it, i started it and checked for codes... nothing what so ever so that was a better sign. on my way home its like i forgot i did the delete bc nothing felt different or signs of change. so i decided to see if vtec would still engage after the delete and it did but i couldnt help but notice an unusual cloud of smoke coming outta the exhaust from the rear view mirror? now im confused because i've never had a smoke problem... ever! and it happens right after the egr delete. so im considering this could have did it, or maybe the colder weather? im just curious if anyone has expirenced the same issue and if it stoped smoking after a day, week, or never but tommarow when i get in my car this will be the deciding factor if it was just the night time getting to me, or if something is really going on but until then all comments are needed thanks preludezone! all i want to know is if smoking is common after an egr delete!?! thanks guys!!

Re: smoke after EGR delete

Heres my two cents, which may not count for much since I still need to do the delete on my own 92 h22a.
The EGR is supposed to recirc gasses that arent burned, so it would make sense that you may have a little more colorful exhaust gas. However, this may just be a side effect of the new delete kit being warmed up.
Also, if your ECU is still thinking it has an EGR system then it could be telling your engine to expect the extra exhaust gasses. (My best uneducated guess) My delete kit will be installed along with a new map for my ECU so that the EGR system is completely negated, like it was never there.
I could be totally off with this but I thought Id put my opinion out there for someone else to expand on.

Re: smoke after EGR delete

hey thanks atleast some one decided to search in reply to my thread lol. well see i have a p28 tuned ecu egr delete is already part of that ecu but my problem was it seriously just being a cold nite and all everything seems fine and should have made a new post on here saying that but being no one really even commented to it i decided just to leave it alone lol i notice when its idleing it has more white smoke coming out then my friends and maybe this could be a cause of an egr delete im not sure but its only on cold nights you can notice itbut other than that from that night i believe everything is ok

but thanks for putting in your 2 cents bro
