Re: BLOWN MOTOR NEED HELP!!!!!!!!

do a h23vtec or an h22 type s. not a lot of people have done the k swap in the lude yet so it would be pricey and pretty hard.

Re: BLOWN MOTOR NEED HELP!!!!!!!!

Yes, something like that. Although the h22a type S motor is made for the type SH model. If you have a base you may need to swap out the tranny mounts, and possibly screw with the ATTS, I believe it requires at least one speed sensor that you'd be missing.

If you have a base model then your easiest and cheapest road is to go with a h22a1 or a h23.

That could mean a lot of things.

Depending on how bad the damage is from throwing a rod (obviously it didn't bust the block cuz you would have said something regarding that already) You might have to re-sleeve and put new pistons and rods. Also hopefully there isn't any damage to the crank. If this is the case buying a used JDM motor/trans would be about the same price or at least in the same ball park and would be a much better option unless you want to build your motor, then sleeving your block and putting new rods and pistons and polishing the crank would be a good thing.

Either way there bud you're looking at spending a little cheese..

If it was me I would have them sleeve the block, put new pistons and rods and polish the crank. If you have enough money after all that I would do a Kaizenspeed balance shaft eliminator. Now If you do the block you have to decide which way you want to go, either high compression so you can go all motor (NA) or low compression to go turbo (forced induction). Also I would put the block first because you can buy a seperate head pretty cheap and have them build that while your car is still running so you can spread out your finances and not have to foot the whole bill at once. If you have the cheese to afford doing the whole thing at once (most of us don't) then I would definitely do the block 1st and the head 2nd. Block is the most expensive of the 2 and is also harder to deal with then the head since the whole motor has to come out whereas the head can be dealt with right under your hood.

After you get both of those things done get yourself an ecu and take a trip to your local dyno to get tuned. There are many more details and this is a very vague description of what you can do, something to contemplate..

Re: BLOWN MOTOR NEED HELP!!!!!!!!

With the whole motor out of the car, and dissasembled down to the block, there is no limit to what you can do with enough moolah. It really depends on what you're looking at spending.

That shop did screw you and I'm truly sorry. Valuable lesson learned here.

Ok, for $2500.00 You could of had a complete rebuild of your block sleeved and everything. My block is composed of Darton sleeves, Arias pistons and Eagle rods and my crank has been polished and knife edged. Also everything else aka bearings are brand new. The bottom end is pretty much bullet proof. You should try and talk to the shop that rebuilt your bottom end and see what they will do for you. If they say they won't help you I would threaten them with the better business bureau and even a lawsuit because it sounds like they ripped you off something terrible. For the amount of money you spent you should be rollin baller style. Do they work on a lot of Honda's cuz it sure doesn't sound like it..
