Seafoam final thoughts?

Before you write anything, I know to search! I have searched, but I am extremely cautious with my Lude because I am a noobie. I just have a few things I want confirmed.

I have one bottle of Seafoam motor treatment. I was going to divide it into three parts (oil, gas, intake). I chose this because I have read that this method is most effective. I have heard that this is bad for gaskets/seals, but it clearly states on the website that it is not harmful to them. So how would I go about this? This is how I thought it should go:

Engine off,
1/3 in gas tank
1/3 in oil
Turn engine on,
1/3 in PCV valve

White smoke should come billowing out of my exhaust like firey hell for about 5 minutes, correct?

I should keep on the throttle slightly until the smoke is mostly gone?

Since I have put it in the oil (crankcase), I should drive at least 30 miles to ensure it cleans the whole system, right?

After the 5 minutes of smoke and 30 miles to clean oil, I should immediately change my oil and be on my happy way?

Engine specs:

H23a1
160,000 miles
Stock except Intake and exhaust.

Anything I missed? If someone feels like giving me a better step-by-step instruction, it would be greatly appreciated

Re: Seafoam final thoughts?

I've never used seafoam and I don't believe it's legal in Canada due to the toxins but do your steps then once ur engines on and the seafoam is in. Rev your engine for a full 2 minute and then go for a nice drive while doing some high revs. Get the VTEC going and then flush Oil.

Re: Seafoam final thoughts?

Well I'm due for an oil change anyways and I figured it would be super dirty after around 100 miles. Having 15 years of buildup and such.

Re: Seafoam final thoughts?

then great. changing your oil after it runs in your system wont hurt. just make sure to drive it a bit before changing the oil so it cleans all the s**t out. you will notice a difference in performance. its great!

Re: Seafoam final thoughts?

I'm going a minimum of 100 miles. I've already hit about 60, lol. I put some in my gas too. After I change my oil, I'm doing the final part for the intake cleaning.

Re: Seafoam final thoughts?

ic. im not sure about that last part though?
why would u put it in the intake after your oil change? i dont think that would effect anything but if i were u id do it all at once and change my oil right after.

I thought you were supposed to put some in the oil, gas, and through the PCV valve?

Re: Seafoam final thoughts?

seafoam is a wonder drug for cars.... (something like that)

anyway, what I did, and continue to do is..., take 2/3 of can and suck it through your brake booster line, into the intake manifold.... have someone work the gas pedal so car won't die while doing this.., but don't rev it up too much while sucking up the seafoam., or else you'll just burn it up as quick as your puting it in....defeating the purpose...

you work the gas pedal just enough to keep the car running.. after the intake sucks all the seafoam up... shut car off.., let sit 15-20 min.... then start and rev motor up high, and watch the fun...

put the rest into your gas or oil.., or both

post a vid of it...
