Transmission Advice

Alright so my friend has an SR20 240sx, recently he has had issues with the transmission, we both though it was a bad slave cylinder, so we replaced it, and bled the crap outta the lines, there are no leaks, and the clutch is completely bled.

Alright so here is the deal, when clutch pedal is to the floor, the car won't go into gear quite a bit, occasionally he can get it into first but thats about it, WITH THE CAR ON, if the car is off it will change gears easily. Then the other day with the car on, clutch pressed down to the floor, and the car in first, it grabbed and rolled the car forward.

Now my initial thought is a bad throwout bearing, anybody have any advice? He is on a 240 forum but nobody ever replies to help, they just gawk over the rich boys 240s..

Any advice is great.

Re: Transmission Advice

Could be a broken pressure plate. If the pressure plate gets broken or bent fingers it will change the release point of the clutch and intermittently engage at normal and sometimes all the way at the floor.

Not sure if thats whats going on with his car though, I didn't really read the entire post.
