Re: clutch/pp/flywheel??

I dunno much about ACT, but I would prolly go with a stage 1 and a lightweight aluminum flywheel from Fidanza. Keep in mind that you can only go up to stage 1 clutches with an aluminum flywheel, otherwise the harder clutch material in the higher stages of clutch will chew up your flywheel. At least thats how I understand it.

Also I've heard the bypass on a cold air completely negates the benefits of having a cold air. I'd look into a short ram, possibly an AEM v2 if you have the dough for one. Otherwise there are alot of other short rams available for alot cheaper.

Re: clutch/pp/flywheel??

Any reason you want a non-vtec block? Why not H22a? All that money you will spend in mods is dwarfed by the power gained by the h22a vs h23a1.

I'll assume you are getting a crazy deal on it or something.

I like the ACT flywheels, they are 1 piece which is arguably more reliable than 2 piece flywheels like fidanza. Don't get me wrong Fidanza is well respected in the prelude community, but a couple people have had issues. ACT makes an 8.8 and 11.9lb flywheel, stock weight is like 20ish so pick whichever sounds better.

As far as clutch goes, if you are sticking with bolt ons you can get a slightly more aggressive than stock clutch but don't go crazy, if its a dd you'll regret it. Stick with something along the lines of a stage 1 clutch, not a X-puck clutch. I see that ACT has a "Sport Clutch" with "Clamps load increase of 20% to 40%. Pedal feels stock to moderatey" (the random website's misspelled word not mine, lol). That sounds about right.

Personally, I have a Exedy stage 1 clutch with over 100k miles on it that is close to stock feel with a little more grab. But my next clutch might be ACT or Competition brand, idk.

Re: clutch/pp/flywheel??

having a fidanza 8lb or act flywheel with a standard clutch will NOT affect your DD..and u wont notice any difference in your clutch apart from the fast revving up and down of your engine!!
