Audio Install Help

Alright im new to installing audio and i have some questions about installing a audio system with a two channel amp, two subs, two tweeters, and a equalizer. I already know how to do all the electrical wiring but im kinda confused when it comes to wiring up the sound. my tweeters already have bass canceling capacitors built into them, so does this means that i can just install them straight into the amp in the same spot where i will install the subs? and can u guys just give me any helpful tips to installing the system

thanks

Re: Audio Install Help

You're installing all that of A (meaning singular) 2 channel amp? Good luck mate, you'll need it.

I would go pick up another cheap amp to run the tweeters with. I personally like to use a 4 channel amp for highs. Usually don't need a crazy wattage, I've always stayed around 150.

Re: Audio Install Help

get a 6 channel amp for ur components (door speakers/tweets) and run a channel off ur 2 channel to each sub. Unless its 2 ohm stable then u can brigde it and draw more power. Bridging is (-+ -+) wire from either both inside or both outsides. u still have +/- but it cuts the power load allowing more energy into the subs. But a straight 6 chanel or even an 8 (just wouldnt use 2) for ur components n itll be crystal clear and loud

Re: Audio Install Help

Yeah buddy keep your subs powered separately from the rest of the speakers.
If your tweets need an amp hooked to them, which I've never seen unless you put on raves from your car, they shouldn't need a powerful one at all. Like these guys said, stick with the 2-channel for the subs and look for a decent 4-channel for the rest.

Another thing you'll wanna give info on..do your tweeters receive signal separately from the door speakers? Like, does your head unit produce sound on more than 4 channels, or is the tweeter just part of a 4-way door speaker setup or something similar where the door speaker jumps the signal? And also, some equalizers are actually small amplifiers themselves, like 75w, so make sure yours isn't before you hook it up.

U will NEVER be able to run that on 1 2ch amp. I have highs and subs on my 4ch amp.

Re: Audio Install Help

paralell your tweets directly with your front speakers and run the subs off the 2 ch amp. otherwise get a 4 ch amp for all your mains.

every answer is pretty much willi-nillie until we know what you are running.

Lindso had it the closest... BUT, I will not say anymore in this thread until you provide more information.

Re: Audio Install Help

You really should just run a crossover from another amp then to your mids/tweets.

no, dont amp your tweets alone, they're designed to be paralelled with your mains (through a crossover if possible) just get a 4ch amp and amp all your mains.
