how hard is it to replace a timing belt on a h22a?

well about 2 months ago my lude started making this weird ticking noise like nothing i have heard before. everytime i would get the hood up and try to find it it would stop. turned out to be my timing belt has stretched im assuming. the belt is loose between the cam gear at the front of the car and the crank. between the back gear and the crank its tight. its so loose i can pull it off the front gear i havent dont that but i know i could if i tried lol. i built my motor from the crank up but had someone else install the timing belt. what all would i need to do it and is it even something i should try?

make sure you have a good manual or alldata to walk you thru it step by step .. if you do it even a little wrong you have a serious problem real quick . if you do decide to do it yourself a paint marker can be your best friend . mark the sheit out of the old belt cam gears and crank . transfer your marks to the new belt . i do timing belts all the time on all makes and i always do this just to be positive its perfect . do the same for the balance shaft belt and gears also .

its not hard at all i helped a friend do his belt on a h22 civic hatch. mutch tighter squeeze took about 45min
it all depends on tools and know how
the biggest challange will be the crank pulley bolt
once thats done the rest is quick

As long as you have a good set of instructions and all the right tools, there's no reason you shouldn't be able to replace the belt, or anything else on the car for that matter.

the reason i didnt do it the first time when the motor was built is because i was told i needed a tool to look down the cams guess i just got screwed by my mechanic lol
