Re: advice please

depends on how old the timing belt and water pump are, but in most cases its recommended to put in a New timing belt and water pump while the motor is out of the bay .. its just much easier to set everything at TDC and do it correctly while the motor is out

Re: advice please

I've never done a swap, but I've heard almost everyone does it while the motor is out. Makes sense to me, do it yourself now and save yourself some money and time. and hey thats 35k more miles you don't hafta worry about it right?

I would do it.IMO

Re: advice please

I just got my h22a w/50k on it. I changed the timing belt/oil pump/water pump/all gaskets/cv axels and I sea foamed it. My reccomendation would be to replace all the major stuff like that just to be safe. Not to mention the motors out n its easy. But if moneys tight (n believe me I know it is lol) then either wait til u can afford to do it all if that's possible or do it by neccissity. Good luck n congrats on ur swap

Re: advice please

change them while you're at it. it's not that much more work. besides, do you really trust the mileage they say is on there? i didn't.

Re: advice please

I've done plenty of these swaps and as a rule of thumb I always go ahead and swap the belts and what ever before installing the engine its just easier.
