How about just regular 5w30?

I don't think so.

I don't use 5W30 .. only 10W40 and she eats it like a cake .

Sounds like your 90k motor's not in the greatest shape. I've got more than twice that and I go through a quart every 3k or so

I think it is not from the engine ... but from the oil. That's why I will go with one of these

Re: MOTUL 20W-60 VS Castrol 10W-60

Ok, the engine is supposed to take 5w-30. Obviously if it's going through it that fast then there is something wrong with the car.

Re: MOTUL 20W-60 VS Castrol 10W-60

Yea prolly. Mine takes 5w-30, has an oil leak AND 170k miles, and it doesn't go through oil that fast.

Re: MOTUL 20W-60 VS Castrol 10W-60

You are already running much thicker oil. These engines do burn oil. But yours obviously either burns a lot more than it should or leaks. Even if it doesn't burn a thicker oil as much there is still obviously a problem.

Re: MOTUL 20W-60 VS Castrol 10W-60

We are definitely out .. very away from the threat. The engine burns oil , coz of always Vtec ( I drive only on 2nd with over 5k ) I do like the Vtec sound. Have read many threads and people like me ( with this style of driving ) uses 10W60 or 20W60, but it has to be summer time ( like now ) for this oil . So I am asking which one is better?
I may try 5W30 , but I think the car will be much noisier .
The recommended oil is 10W40.

P.S In Bulgaria the quality of the fuels and oils is very low. This is one of the reasons for this oil waste.
