Euro-R swap problems

Really just have 2 problems, the tach and cel dont work.

I have a 96 Accord w/ a 2000 Euro-r swap. Car starts and runs, but the tach doesn't move and the cel never turns on. And im running the stock PCD-014 Euro-r ecu

I found this thread:
OBD2b - OBD1 Conversion & Tach doesn't work - Honda-Tech

Which says to wire a resistor into my harness to make the tach work, going to try that in a bit when i get can get to the garage (no car since its at the shop). But also read some that if the tach doesnt work then the tach sensor isnt being turned on so that can lead to the cel not working. True?

And before you try to say i messed up wiring, the wiring was done by hasport and i have a obd2a to 2b xenocron jumper harness

I don't really see a correlation between the two that could lead to that problem, but it's plausible. God knows weirder **** has happened. Once you wire up that resistor let us know what's up.

Re: Euro-R swap problems

Its not working because you have the wrong distributor and wrong ecu. Also, the guys that are working on your car are asking you to get these parts in order to finish your swap. The 2000 accord euro r needs modification as far as oem parts to install. So the money you saved on the random engine swap you are going to spend again to buy the correct prelude parts to finish the swap. Its that simple. Also, the hasport harness wil not be cut by said people for it is a swap harness for plug and play. Just like my grandfather told me "dont have the money, cant get in". or in this case cant pop tech. U are in need of a two plug distributor most likely from a 96 prelude as well as a 96 obdII PRELUDE ecu. And the car will run like a champ. The harness was wired as such therefore we need the correct parts to finish it.

Re: Euro-R swap problems

Why would they change their minds 20 times on what needs to be replaced? They should have a pretty clear idea on what needs to be done.

And why are they on here telling you what needs to be done and not calling you directly? Seems kinda unprofessional, but maybe thats just me.

How did they know you're on this forum? And why would they start a forum account just to tell you something on a forum they coulda told you over the phone? Sounds pretty dumb.

Re: Euro-R swap problems

So everyone knows, this has been a long dragged out process where the car owner wanted to be responsible for all parts. We asked to have all parts provided at the time of drop off and all being friends we trusted that the parts that we were given were correct. After many attempts at what was given to us and much discussion, he hasnt listened to a word we say to him. All that aside, I searched his engine ecu code on google to see if anyone has used this ecu for this swap and the only things I saw were his two posts refering to a b series swap into an integra. which has no precedence to what we are doing here. We were fully capable of procurring all the parts for this swap and offered to do so, although the owner wanted to source their own parts and hope that they were correct. I told him from day one that the 2000 accord mounts were different from what we needed, and that wasnt a concern for him he asked us to try it and all being friends and thinking that maybe he had trumped me and our combined experience and tried the parts. To our dismay they were incorrect. We did our research and found that he needed several different parts and instead of making a list for himself or simply allowing us to procure the parts he has chosen to go his own route. We were hired to install the parts he has given us, we have made many suggestions before the fact but unfortunately for the owner the cheap way out is not always the cheap way out. We will be deleting our posts and I would expect the owner jerseyh22accord to keep this between us and ask him to stop questioning our ability by asking several people online if what we are asking for is correct or not.

Re: Euro-R swap problems

This thread had nothing to do with the parts, if you do a search for euro-r tach no working its a common problem so i was trying to find a solution since me and the one dude were trying to see if we could find a solution yesterday before the events today happened.

/topic

im not arguing in a thread
