obdII work around (egr block off)

ok i have a skunk2 IM and i have a cel, pretty sure its because of the egr although i havent actually done the ecu code reading thingy yet.
i have read this thread
How-to: EGR Block Plate - Honda Prelude Forum - Prelude Online.com
it all seems pretty simple and id like to give this a go to see if it clears my cel, however im confused about this obdII work around that the tread refers to, please could somebody with more brains please explain this to me.
many thanks
Rich

Far as I know it isn't recommended any more, so the instructions were removed. Best to switch to OBD1 if you want to run that IM.

Basically involved putting a switch on the line that provides voltage to the ECU when the car is off. When set to off, the ECU resets every time you turn the car off.

Re: obdII work around (egr block off)

all it is... a switch to clear ecu memory so it resets your cel everytime. i have put sk2 manifolds on obd2 h22a4s and i make a plate to block the bottom of the egr, run the vaccums lines as if running a stock manifold for the egr and egr selonoid. then make sure its plugged in, wire tie it somewhere secure. as long as the computer sees the egr connected and the valve and actuator working... no CEL.
