How do you install Hid fogs ?

Well, I have a 97 prelude and i recently bought an h3c hid kit. I was wondering if you guys can make a DIY on how to install it or just instructions on how to install it. I never installed HID's for foglights yet so yeah. Kinda stuck aha

Didn't they come with instructions? Most of the newer HID kits are just plug and play. just connect the wires that go to the ballast (the big silver box) to the stock h3 fog light bulb connector and mount it securely somewhere (a place that stays dry is prob better). Then connect the other wires that come off it to the HID bulb and mount the bulb the normal way you would mount a h3. After that you should be done. Sorry I cant really get into more detail right now. Hope this helped a lil bit.

Re: How do you install Hid fogs ?

As far as I'm aware it's pretty much plug n play, as above. Keep an eye on the wiring loom though, the factory loom is pretty thin wiring, and I'm not sure it would be up to the task of constantly supplying the higher current draw associated with HIDs.

Having said that there are plenty of people on here who have run HIDs in fogs for years with no dramas.

yes the factory fog light wire from the wire is VERY thin. so if u were to splice the wire and connect your hid wires there, would it be enough power?? o.O

Re: How do you install Hid fogs ?

HID's would only be drawing more amps for a few secs whenever you turn them on no? Should draw less power than the stock halogens once going. Otherwise you could just add a relay. 12V battery is right there so you can run a thick wire to supply power and just use the stock orange wire to switch the relay.

well my battery has been relocated to the back :$! so would it still be ok to just have it powered by that one little factory fog light wire??
