Icon11 Newbie exhaust Help!

Hi everyone i'm new to this forum, I bought a 5th gen lude but don't know too much about them. I'm just trying to maximize the air flow on my car and gain a lil Hp. I didn't notice the car came with a RS-R exhaust 2.5 catback but it also had an OBD1 cat which has no opening to plug in my O2 sensor so my check engine light is on. Is there a way to bypass this?

Also my other question, a friend sold me his complete Skunk2 catback system,
which system has the most gain the RS-R or the skunk2, note that noise doesn't matter as one is loud and the other hardly makes a sound.
Thanks in advance!!

Re: Newbie exhaust Help!

on your first question you can go to some muffler or performance shop to get a plug in there but it cost mony and is kinda a waste of time. if your going to do a lot of performance upgrades to your lude expect to not have sensers on everything.

on the secound question its hard to say mostly it matters on the diamiter of the pipes but note this do not expect to have a big hp gain just by putting a exhaust system you will notice a bigger gain when you add more stuff to it. for example youll see a lot of advertisment sayn you will gain 15 horspower just by putting a cat on, this is not true you need other things for that to happen such as headers and intake. if your looking for performance gains dont spend a lot of money on the exhaust put money on intake manifolds throttle bodies intake and to see a huge hp gain get cams. and if your just tryn to make it louder get headers and xhaust. but like i said dont put a lot of money on a exhaust i made that mistake, its not worth it..

Re: Newbie exhaust Help!

you can goto an exhaust shop and have an o2 bung welded into your current cat/test pipe.

both exhausts will make close to the same amount of power, if you end up getting the s2 pm me a price for the RSR. i would be very interested in buying it from you.

Hi there and thanks for your help. You guys do know your ludes. Im going skunk 2 i guess the choice was made when i notice the RSR also came with a couple of holes lol i had no idea how bad the car had it, so that makes my choice one sided. And sorry i cant sell it in that condition. And since the cost for the O2 installed in that cat would cost too much i guess i have to get used to that orangy check engine light as a dash decoration lol. Thanks
