Electric Cutout Exhaust or No?

Hey, I have been looking around for exhausts for my lude for a while now...I was close to buying one the other day but just so happens that on the same day I ran across an electric cutout exhaust on my friend's car that he just installed...well I live in Virginia and exhaust systems will get you pulled over with the quickness so I saw this as a better alternative...I read up on them and to fill those of you who are not fimiliar with them: they usually bolt directly onto your headers and consists of two outputs, one leading at an angle away from your exhaust (simply just an electrically controlled opening), and the other continuing your exhaust to your catalytic converter or muffler. When opened, electrically, airflow is directed straight from your headers giving you controlled (up to maximum) performance but when closed, air from your headers runs through your normal exhaust system or also you may have both (power from your muffler and directly from your headers)...I see many advantages to this, in that the amount of air flow is controlled so you can have maximum output or minimal or even in between which will also give you performance and sound if you want it...I was wondering if anyone has looked into, has, or has had this addition to their exhaust system but I'm thinking about just buying this and keeping my exhaust piping stock although both would be beastI found a good site that sells them, check it out...hopefully I can see some good responses to this thread...Your input will have impact on my decisions...
Peace.

well it's actually a little less, it's just an adapter specifically fitted for whatever exhaust system tubing size you have and it's cheaper then most top brand exhausts, 200 compared to 400, but I think I'll just order this and some Megan headers, hook it up to my stock system which I may replace in the future, and just call it a done deal...aside from that, how's that Greddy exhaust working for you...sound?!?!...performance?!?!?...just a little curious

never really seeen (or heard of) anyone puttin one on their lude, altho i have been wondering about it also

not gonna lie, i think it would sound like absolute as$ on a barely stock motor. ever drive the car with open header??
one word comes to mind: obnoxious

but if there wasa terbiee before the cutout, then its a-ok in my books

it may sound kind of ricer but I'll find some way to calm that noise down into sexciiness and I did hear it on my brother turbo-ed Eclipse and it sounds too beast...and also I've heard it on a stock prelude and it had a low but loud rumble to it sort of like a Camaro...

i have seen them a lot on domestic cars they seem to make a difference in sound but ur stock exhaust is going to be louder with the megan headers on it, so why not get a performance exhaust that looks like stock but is a bit louder people are running those all the time. i live in bumf*ck so no one cares about loud exhausts so i am running a apex n1. what are the decibel levels for where u live? find that out then look for an exhaust that meets those requirements. i bet u would be happier with that then the cutout.
