5th Gen sunroof switch bad or not?\

Ok first off, let me say when i push the switch to open the sunroof i hear nothing at all, but when i hit the top of the switch to close it, the motor clicks like it just shut the sunroof, so i ripped my switch out and was checkin to see if there was anything viseably wrong, but idk,m anyone have any good technie solutions to check my my switch? or to jump the moon roof to open and shut it without using a switch?, anyway to wire an aftermarket switch or toggle switch to bypass it for now?

Next time be a little more specific with the title... you don't seem to mention the 5th gen sunroof conversion anywhere in your description. To answer the original question, it's definitely good. It's made of glass so it will never rust like the OEM roof and it fits flush with very minimal modification. I found that the interior of the fourth gen is rather dark and the sunroof lets in some light too.

As for your switch problem, maybe check for loose wires, that's all I can think of.

Uhm, Idk how much more specific my title can be? lol... i think it was pretty straight foward for even a 5th grader could understand. Also i have no idea what you mean by 5th gen sunroof conversion. Typically when someone does not mention anything modified to thier specific part they are questioning about, 99% of the time its stock, unless they would mention some type of "conversion" or modification to it.

Also what in gods name are you talking about quote- " To answer the original question, it's definitely good. That is absolutely no way nears close to an answer i would have expected haha, Where did in my title or thread did it ask anything about my sunroof placement/fitting/ or quality of it? haha... uhm...

I'm not trying to come off like an A-hole since im new here, but i seriously felt like i just got an answer from a 10 year old that just did a google search for prelude sunroofs good or bad. lol...

Anyways... Does any else have a logical or intelligent answer to my question? lol

Re: 5th Gen sunroof switch bad or not?\

After reading the post i know exactly what the OP is asking. I see nothing about converting a 4th gen to a 5th gen sunroof. He is saying when he trys to open the 5th gen sunroof the motor does not make a sound. But when the 5th gen sunroof...on a 5th gen prelude is closed, and he hits the close part of the sunroof switch. The motor of makes a clicking sound. So basically it wants to close the sunroof but not open it. He wants to know if there is a way to bypass the factory switch and wire up an after market switch. Sorry i cant help with the actual answer but i tried to make it a little more clear what you are asking for.

Re: 5th Gen sunroof switch bad or not?\

Thanks for all the replies, I will deff. consider buying that switch off you once i know its the switch and not a wiring issue or a relay or something in that aspect.

I'm sorry I did not mean to offend anyone by my reply to that guy, But I just did not know any other way to react. lol No pun intended bro, its all in good faith. I have no problems with you at all. I was simply making sparking a little humor out of this whole ordeal.

Anyways, What i am planning on doing is removing the switch, Finding all my 12volts, cause in the switch itself there is 6 wires. 3gnd and 3 12v, 1 is acc, 1 is main and 1 is switching 12v power, So im going to take a switch off a computer powersupply, trace the 2, 12volts that are directly for opening the sunroof, wire them into a switch, and test it out... ill repost as soon as i figure it out, if it works, i can either wire up a really nice switch setup to do the sunroof, or buy the switch from the guy here.

I would personally not want to make any modifications to the interior as its all leather and expensive to replace. so ill see.

If you want to save yourself some trouble man, just pay me shipping and I'll send ya the switch. If it works, then you can pay me for it; if it doesn't send it on back to me. I'll work with ya on good faith.

Let me know man, I'm always willing to help out a fellow (Fl) Luder.

If you wanna pm me your adress I'll stop by the post office on tuesday( I think its closed for P day tomorrow...) and let ya know. According to USPS.com it shouldn't be anymore than $5. So if you wanna just paypal me that much we'll call it even? If you decide to keep it then we'll take however much shipping actually was and subtract the rest from sale price, if thats cool with you. I'll pm you my paypal if thats all good.
