Re: Aem intake fit help
I had this problem too. You have to remove the Intake Air Control solenoid valve. Its probably the part on the intake that's supposed to be bolted down. It's hitting a little black box. You have to remove the black box. Here are the instructions.
http://www.aemintakes.com/instructio...-6005_inst.pdf You don't have to follow every singe step since AEM suggests you remove the water bypass hose just so you can take off both hoses. Save yourself some time and only take off the one connecting your intake to your valve cover. Otherwise you'll drain out some coolant and blah blah. Pain! And you don't have to remove your resonator box underneath where your stock intake box sat. Waste of time. Hope this helps.

Re: Aem intake fit help
ya, you dont have to take the bumper off. im gonna go ahead and assume youve already removed the resonator and stock airbox. basically, remove tire (its easier) remove splash guard. then when you stick the tube through the hole that was under the airbox, you can put the filter on through where the splash guard went. hope that made sense. kind of rambled

oops my bad you will have to take out your resonator box. I forgot you're putting in a CAI not an SRI.

Re: Aem intake fit help
...did you even try and look in the DIY section?? it was on the first page under engine diy... ENG: How to remove air intake resonator - 5G Prelude
Quote:
1 awesome advice with following the aem instructions, but unlike what you said, DO remove that extra coolent line, and replace it with a normal rubber line, that should have came with your intake(if not just go buy like 6in's of it). Otherwise it leaves this useless piece of pipe right there and looks like Shit. 2. YES you do have to remove that resonator box underneath if your runnning any type of CAI, like he said he got. 015THGeNsH only part of that i would consider is yes read through that aem instructions or the diy link above.. Re: Aem intake fit help
Wow
1st off u dont have to take bumper off.. just pull back the plastic guard thats underneath ur car.. take the stock intake resonator off.. u MIGHT have to make the hole bigger where the intake goes through the enine compartment.. I had to with my old aem cai.

Re: Aem intake fit help
Ive got an AEM CAI on my 01 prelude and i just removed the original air intake box and you dont need to remove the front bumper. If you can raise your vehicle so your passenger front tire is off the ground, Remove your tire and remove your water wheel cover and you will have perfect access so you can slide the piping from the top into the hole and then go under the water wheel and slide on the filter. I have done this so many times to pull the filter off and clean it. its the simpliest and less stressful in my opinion.
