Re: Lowering springs?

Id recommend the eibach pro kit for springs.
Eibach Pro Kit - 97-01 Prelude

I have them and they are very nice. lowered the car about 1.5 inches. They are stiff enough to improve handling, but still great for daily driving.

Pair them with some aftermarket struts though. I have kyb gr2's

Dont go cheap on suspension. If you cant afford decent struts and springs now, then wait until you can. Otherwise you will end up with cheap bouncy springs and blown out struts. Just keep that in mind and you wont regret it.

You never have to have a camber kit and your caster will be fine.

If you go to low though you will be off camber and you will go through tires pretty fast. Seeing how you only want to go about 1.5" though, you will be fine.

If you get funtion and form, go with the type1 set. I don't think you will need more than that and they only cost $630-675 depending on where you can find them.

Here they are for $630 shipped.

Get rid of your auto tranny. You will seriously see an average of a 50whp gain by doing a 5 speed swap.

Re: Lowering springs?

The shop thats doing my swap is charging 800(yeah Im sorry i dont know how 2 do a 5spd swap guys). So I think in all im gonna be spending like 23-2500 dollars. I would definitely save that 700 for the swap. It will be soooo much more reliable and u wont have 2 worry about ur ticking time bomb auto tranny

I agree with you.

Batlude, if you save your money and keep an eye out for deals the swap can cost you less than 2000 bucks. You could always pick up an h23 transmission for cheap. A lot of people are parting out their 5th gens and 4th gens right now.

The Prelude automatic transmissions are very unreliable though... No one said you can't turbo an automatic, so I don't understand where that came in. He was just trying to give you a heads up on how they have a bad history. You asked our advice.

They're so unreliable because they have such a high failure rate. U already said that the tranny has been rebuilt before. So there ya go. And yeah. Like bb2 said, u can definitley get the swap done for less than 2k. I just bought some parts new for some peace of mind.

You rebuilt it yourself or you paid someone to rebuild it?

If you can rebuild a transmission I don't see why you couldn't do a swap.
