Somebody's gotta know...

Ok im realllly getting tired of this problem...
Heres what happens.....
When i come to a stop my idle will drop to maybe 600rpms ...after that my check engine light will flash. It will continue to do that unless i give it gas then the light stops flashing... It never misfires when i drive it. Just at idle but you cant tell because you dont feel it!! Now recently since it got cold in the morning i get an erratic idle that fluctuates up and down til its warm and then it does the whole 600rpm thing.

These are the CEL codes **p0141--p1399 then all the p0301/2/3/4 codes

Now this is what ive done..
The whole tune up thing (spark plugs/ wires/ ign coil/cap& rotor)
Took apart the fuel rail and took out the injectors and cleaned them.
Replaced the EGR valve and swapped a working Idle air control valve onto my car still same thing... Changed the fuel filter.. Changed the 02sensor (because of the p0141 code) The only thing i have not changed is the TPS..
Another question is ...if I pull the TPS connector while the car is running and it idles the same..Is that normal?? Would the TPS cause problems like this and cause misfires??? What am I missing?
any help here please...Id like to have a normal car!!

Re: Somebody's gotta know...

Im no expert, but couldn't this be a valve or timing issue. That would be the next logical place I would look.

Re: Somebody's gotta know...

Welcome .to the pz . i read your problem ,i will give you some idea what to do next.considering the codes you gave and you did change some parts already ,try to borrow an ecu from some one with the same year model and engine to see if it throws any codes ,then you know if that works , ,no one seems to go that route because it's expensive to change , but the ecu is the brain and it controls every function of the engine ,from start to idle ,ecu is under the front passenger carpet padding and metal foot protector ,it has six 10mm nuts.and four 10mm bolts holding the ecu to the floor, make sure to open your ecu up from both sides and look for burn or fraided transistor, look around the plugging connections .Hope this give you more hope to fix your problem .Hit me up if for more info if needed.Later .john

There are "how to" vids on youtube that will show you step for step then you just need to find out what spec it's suppose to be at. i know the h23 is .003-.004 on intake and .006 - .007 on exhaust. only tools needed are box wrench, flat head screw driver, i think 17mm socket and socket wrench. Its not a hard thing to do.

Re: Somebody's gotta know...

I had a similar problem with my civic. The problem was a dirty throttle body. The gunk in the throttle body prevented the Idle Air Control and MAP to function correctly. In the civic there was a tiny tube that led to the MAP sensor.
Once the throttle body, MAP tube, and IAC filter were clean the idle was stable at the correct RPM.
It is pretty easy to get the throttle body off to clean.

Re: Somebody's gotta know...

I cannot believe what it was..... This freakin whole time Ive replaced so much stuff and I just decided to start pulling hoses off while my car was doing the whole misfire at Idle thing...

So I pull the hose coming off the TB going to the egr solenoid...and guess what??? it ran better!!! so i ran the hose to a small air intake i had laying around...ran the car around and NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHT!! wow...so im very sure the egr solenoid is jacked up... I tried cleaning it and all and no luck... now Ive gotta find a cheap one =/

Re: Somebody's gotta know...

I cant freakin believe this...after one whole year I finally figured out what it was... STUPID EGR pressure sensor!!! ...I let it idle and started to get the engine to drop and as soon as i pulled the top air hose leading to the EGR P.S. the motor ran perfect! all this time replacing expensive part after part!! Now i gotta find a cheap one somewhere! anyone know where to get one??
