Problem with CEL 16--- Solved! My retard moment for the week.

Okay guys.

As most of you know I just bought this 93 VTEC prelude.

I'm in the middle of a few things with it.

First i'm in the middle of a 5 lug swap from my old prelude. I'm also fixing the tranny issue by draining/refilling the trans and changing the master and slave cylinders.

So about to wrap all that up tonight, and decided to start the car since it was sitting here for the last few days not started.

Car wont start.

At first I thought Main Relay, beacuse it was behaving just how my 92 did... crank and crank and crank and no start.

But I just replaced the relay in my 92, so I took it out of the 92 and put it into the new 93 just to see if that would be the issue.

Nope.

So I noticed the check engine light came on after about 10 seconds of trying to start the car.

Did the jumper thing to pull the code, and I get 16... no other codes. Which is Fuel Injector.

I'm a major noob here, and trying to DIY as much as I can to learn as well as get this thing back on the road reliably.

So now with CEL 16, where do I begin to start?

Should I start by replacing the fuel injectors or is that a step for further down the road?

If I should start by replacing the injectors, is that something I can easily DIY or are specialized tools required? Anyone got a DIY write up for it? I tried searching but didn't see anything come up. My next step is to look it up in the SVC manual.

I read some suggestions to use fuel injector cleaner... but that requires the car to be running.

Right before I bought the car the previous owner replaced the Fuel Pump.

Car ran fine up until now. I dont know what else he may have replaced along with the fuel pump but I will call him tomorrow and ask regarding that.

So pissed, finally got some of this stuff out of the way and was anxious to take it around the block to see if my shifter issue was taken care of by my slave/master cylinder replacement. And now the car wont start.

Up side is its another opportunity to learn something new about this ****, so anyone have any advice or tips on where to start I'm I'd appreciate it!

I'm such a freakin bone head.

This is what happens when you work on cars when you should be sleeping!

I unplugged and moved the injector resistor when i did the master cylinder tonight... I put it back where it mounted to the car but i forgot to plug it back in...

I'm such a bone head.

But now that car starts. I'm going to sleep.

Thanks for replying though. I appreciate it!!
