my lude wont start

everything comes on, im sure its not the battery or the starter because it turns over like hell, it just wont start, one of my friends wants to say its the fuel pump, but first he had guess the main relay which cost me 70 bucks and didnt fix the problem, i went with his guess because he's about to finish uti so he might know more than me, the fuel pump is 400 dollars from honda idk how much from somewhere else, my neighbors uncle who is a mechanic checked my car out when i bought it before it stopped turning on and had told me the distributor was going out.

so i want to kno which one u guys think it might be because i have like 200 bucks to buy one of the parts and idk which, i kinda doubt its the fuel pump because i never roll without less than a quarter tank, but at this point idk it just stopped turning on out of nowhere which is making me sad lol

Re: my lude wont start

Hey welcome to the pz : i will try to help with trouble shooting , first crank the engine or have someone do it for you ,and see if you get a spark from the coil wire coming out of the distributor, if spark is noted it should be kind of bluish in color ,and if weak spark kind of red then your ignighter is probably bad, and no spark is noted then the following has to be done ,remove your distributor cap of ,and make sure the rotor is moving crank the engine see if the rotor has turned around wile you crank the engine ,the reason i say this, that will tell us the timing belt is good .If the timing is belt good that's a plus ,and if is not then will start looking into other possible things hit up with update as soon as you get this < what is the mileage okay .John

Re: my lude wont start

take it to a mechanic and have a diagnostic done.
My lude has caused me lots of pain and money, first my timing belt went and snapped on me cost me $800, then just last week i had to get a new fuel pump and fuel filter, another $422,
lets just say im in debt with my father ahha
but havent had much luck lately.

When my fuel pump went out i was able to start it but when i pressed the gas it died, after taking it to my mechanic he got it started up, but then totally lost all fuel pressure so it might be the fuel pump.

But getting it checked out by the mechanic is the best thing, because what if you keep replacing stuff and it isnt the problem?
Just trying to look out for others pockets

Re: my lude wont start

Dazebugz : Make sure you check the fuses on the engine bay and the one's inside the car ,and driver side kick panel, the engine needs fuel and spark ,it cannot start one without the other .Take some notes if the top info checks out good and you want to see if fuel pump is working ,once you put the key on, all dash lights on you should be able to hear your pump cycle for about few second ,the pump could be heard like a humming noise under or in the rear of the car , that humming could be a little info for the pump working or not ,that doesn't mean its completely working up the pressure needed to start ,your going to need a fuel pressure tester to know the pump is up to the task .Don't get discourage ,is the car throwing any check engine before or after that's important ,because that gives us more to go on ,it could be crank sensor any stupid thing like that and it would crank for ever ,and won't start ,if the sensor is bad so that's just a sample so don't worry .Later Happy Thanks Giving John

Re: my lude wont start

when i sit down in driver, i dont hear the little gas humm but i didnt know where the pump was, imma go check out right now because i found out it was in the trunk lol

and to jon, i cant really be sure because it doesnt turn all the way on, the check engine as well as a bunch of other lights are on when i turn the keyy but im pretty sure they all go away when the car is on

i really want to take it to a mechanic but im afraid it's going to cost me with uncessecary repairs as well and twice as much as if i did em lol my friends uncle was already telling me about how much it would cost to replace the whole engine, im like HOLD UP da engine still runs lol so yea i want to stay away from mechanics

Re: my lude wont start

Hey . bro why did you buy a new fuel pump ? did you trouble shoot the distributor first ? because the signs are almost the same with no starts . Give the heads up on the problem okay.
