steering wheel options

my steering wheel has become very worn, so much so that it leaves black rubbery bits all over your hands, i want to replace it. always fancied a nicer steering wheel maybe slightly smaller if possible to cos i think the preludes one is just a little too big....anyway, what options of replacement steering wheels are there but i want to keep cruise control if possible to. s2000 wheels maybe? any input what be cool guys

Re: steering wheel options

s2k and rsx steering wheels fit on 5G's, but since the OP hasn't even told us what gen he has, its kinda hard to read his mind as to which gen he has.

Re: steering wheel options

A cheap option is to simply cover it in leather. I used this on a 4th gen I'm fixing up:
http://gmostore.gmotion.com/store/me...aceon_steering

It takes a while to stitch it on, and you'll need a second sewing needle to do the cross stitch (it looks better, IMO), but once it's done, it feels a lot nicer than vinyl/rubber and it adds quite a bit of girth to the wheel. Made it feel like a completely different wheel. And while you're at the fabric store, maybe you can pick up some red thread for that Type-R look :)

It won't make it smaller, clearly, but just thickening up the wheel helped the feel substantially. I used a dab or two of super glue to make it sit completely flush on the spokes. It really worked quite well.

Here's a pic:

I needed a Superskin Size C for the 4th gen, so measure your wheel and err on the large side if you decide to go this route. Wheelskins also makes leather wraps of better quality (supposedly), but I was satisfied with the Superskin one.
