Rear balance shaft alignment question?

Hey everyone,

My name is Roy and I'm working on a '92 civic with a '02 H22 motor for a buddy of mine. Up until I just signed on to this forum he and myself always believed the motor was out of Prelude, but now seeing that they stopped the Prelude in 'O1 I guess it must be from an Acoord since the motor is stamped '02.

Anyway I put a new timing belt, water pump, and changed it over to a manuel belt tensioner for him. Now that I'm putting it back together I can see where the front balance shaft lines up and the crank pulley, but have no clue what to do with the rear pulley.

I've searched and searched and came up with nothing that is a definite answer so hopefully someone here can help me with this. I've read alot of posts that say it doesn't matter at all where the rear balancer is pointed, but I have read a few that said it needs to be pointed at 5 O'clock and you can't move the gear without the 6mm bolt stuck in there, which I did move it on accident, without the bolt in there.

TIA, any help would be greatly appreciated.

Roy

Yep! I've got an answer. This thread I'm about to give you is saved on my computer. I'm not sure if the thread starter is O.K. with it being posted on here but I'm looking at the big picture which is helping people out.

This should help you out a great deal Roy.
