new part same old problem.

ok....so when i got my 4g lude it had a bad fuel tank and every time i would get to about 1/2 a tank the car would start die slowly, like if it needed fuel. so i drove the car as it was bc its my daily driver until i found a new fuel tank. this weekend i put the new fuel tank in and i am not even near 1/2 a tank and its starting to do the same ****. could there be another underlying problem that is causing this? the fuel injectors are new, the fuel filter and fuel pump are also new. im tired of filling up every 2 days. help would greatly be appreciated.

Re: new part same old problem.

what would make you think its a fuel tank problem? All the tank does is hold the fuel. I would say either its a FPR (fuel pressure regulator problem), fuel pump problem, or a clogged fuel filter. Start with the cheapest first....filter.

Re: new part same old problem.

I was on the way to work this morning and as I passed the parts store I noticed an ad on the window for a special gas cap and that got me to thinking maybe your cap is shot and doesnt hold pressure. Drive it around for 15-20min and then try and take the cap off and see if you hear the pressure release. If not BAM your problem. Could it really be that simple?
I got one laying around so if it is the problem pay the shipping and I'll send it to you

Pump? fuel rail, clogged injectors. Try throwing some fuel injector and fuel system cleaner in your tank. Go by the measurements. Dont mix them at that same time lol.

Re: new part same old problem.

ok so replacing the fuel cap didnt do anything. i was thinkin about how there is somethin similar to the fuel cap that is bolted on to the fuel tank. i have been lookin through the manual to see what it is and how it works but i cant find it. if anybody knws what im tlking about can there be a chance that thats the problem?
