Re: Getting real gas mileage

regardless off short distances or long distances, you shouldn't get 155 miles to a tank. especially when i can get 150 miles to a half tank. so that tells me you're getting about 10 mpg. i would first start checking for leaks. have you noticed or has anyone said to you that you have a lot of black smoke coming from your exhaust.

I havent checked the leaks yet, no one told me i had black smoke , my check engine light is on for the catalytic converter, can the check engine light and the cat converter cause my engine to run rich? I drive about 40 miles back and forth. from a to b.

Re: Getting real gas mileage

when your CEL is on the ecu runs in safe mode which will worsen your gas mileage. but not that much i don't think. i mean i went from 24 to about 21-22 when i last had a CEL.

your cat could be clogged i suppose. i dunno. definitely check for leaks. do you smell gas when your driving at all, especially sitting at stop lights?

Re: Getting real gas mileage

With a stock motor, Im getting 28-29 mpg driving mostly highway. If I drive more city than highway, I still get around 25mpg.

My low fuel light comes on a little past 540km, so bring that 250km up.
