hmmmm, What should I do now??

Ok so I'm parking my lude in a friends shop for the winter so I can work on it. The question is... what should I do? I'm thinking a port and polish to begin with; but I might as well do more while I've got it all apart. Keep in mind I'm on a budget. Probably close to a grand. Any suggestions?

BTW this picture is a little old. I've done a couple little things like paint the engine bay black, blue air filter, new battery... nothing major. (it's all pretty much stock right now except for the intake, DC Sports Headers, and an aftermarket fuel pressure regulator)

Re: hmmmm, What should I do now??

How many miles are on it?

You realize having the head ported and polished is going to run you a pretty penny right?

Have the intake manifold ported and matched and replace the IM gasked with a hondata.

Replace the head gasket, waterpump, and timing belt since everything will be off anyway.

Find a stock exhaust manifold.

I'm sure I'll think up more later.

'find a stock exhaust manifold' ??? Why would I do that? And no, port and polish won't cost me a pretty penny because I'm doing it myself

Because the stock exhaust manifold is better then the dc. You lost power with the DC header trust me. There are only 2-3 good headers for the h22 and dc isn't one of them. Get a replica Hy Tech header it'll cost around $600 I believe.

Ok, I hope to god you aren't some amature doing the port and polish on your own because you can mess things up very quick and easy doing it.

actually the DC header doesn't cut hp, although it's for show more than anything. And no I'm not an amature, I'm certified through OUC and red seal. what background do you have in mechanics?

Really? You act like I knew you were certified to do it. I just simply was saying I hope you aren't some guy out there about to mess some **** up.

As for the background, Not much of one except I am in school for engineering and have worked on cars since I could walk and worked as a tech for Honda for a little over a year. Certified in anything yet though, I'm not.

Re: hmmmm, What should I do now??

Move the battery to the trunk and build a cold air box for the intake.

redline is on a distinguished road
Re: hmmmm, What should I do now??

since your gonna have it out i would replace all seals, head gasket, etc. you could upgrade to a bigger throttle body, or have the one you have polished if you just want it to look nice. motor mounts. up to u though man. do you just plan to just mod the engine bay? and do you have any suspension mods?

Since your on a budget why dont you get the springs from my buddies site for 30% off. May even be 35%. Such a good deal for cheap and power doesnt matter for anything if you cant handle. Now is the time to do it too. Suspension work isnt even hard to do yourself except for having to get an allignment done afterwords so you should just get ES bushings as well.

---and when i mean full body kit. im not talkn bout those down south mamacita's from "more to love" either. you know the ones you see at TACO BELL ordering the last supper.. (grande meal), and they are the only ones in line.

but i am talkin bout the one that wing's west makes. you know the one that if you install it just right and put RED BULL in your gas tank, wings come out the side and you fly when you hit VTEC.

not trying to be an ass or anything but what does that have to do with porting heads? not to mention that h22's flow very well from the factory and need very little material removed and its only in certain areas of the port (short turn). Other than that, the best investment in an h series head is a valve angle job.

And i hope you have a flow meter readily availible if you plan on getting anywhere with it.
