Rear view mirror

Ok, so i have a 5th gen prelude, and i was trying to put on a good luck charm on my rear view mirrors, but the string was too small, so i thought the mirror can be taking out easily, so i pulled down on it, and it came off, im wondering how do i put the rear view mirror back correctly?

if the base actually separated from the glass you will have to get rear view mirror glue from the auto store

if the base is still there just slide the mirror back on

um, what??? the mirror isn't attached to the windshield. you have to pull apart your overhead light fixture. i have a writeup on here somewhere about it, you could search for it. i'll see if i can find it.

edit: ok not exactly a writeup.. but this should help.
