Re: Check Engine Light for Catalytic Converter

a thing is for sure, it is going to come back

probably your 02 sensor that's starting to die

did you scan your CEL ? what exact code comes out ?

pretty sure it's your 02 sensor tho

Re: Check Engine Light for Catalytic Converter

just go to a auto zone or advance auto, and they will let you loan a tool for the socket to fit the sensor $20 but they will return the $20 when you bring back the tool and here is a site for oxygen senor

Re: Check Engine Light for Catalytic Converter

they will prob charge out the butt, theres really no way to tell which one is going out until the check engine light comes back on, next time it does get the code then you can find out, unless you have money then i say buy both

You don't have to wait for the light to come back on. Just use a code reader. They can do that for you at autozone or any other parts place. Also if indeed you do have to change the o2 sensor, spray a sh!t ton of pb blaster or something like that the night before you're going to be doing the work when you park it for the night. Then the next day spray some more on there hang out then prepare to go apesh!t with a good breaker bar.

good luck, its really not that bad....
