2.2 v tec problems help

just brought a 1993 2.2 v tec and it was working fine but then the v tec cut out and engine management light came on now it tries to kick in but is holding back was low on oil but topped up now any ideas please??

well i think you solved it ... usually if your low on oil and you attempt to hit vtec A: you won't hit vtec and B: you will through a check engine light. i would try to flash a code to confirm.

yep. you need to have a certain amount of oil pressure for your vtec to kick in. If you were low on oil, the pressure would be lower then normal, thus causing your vtec to not engage.

manage finally to get the paperclip trick working and is blinnking up 22 so found out thts the vtec pressure switch cant seem to find any sites selling any tho does anyone know any good part sites??
