Installing Crank Pulley Bolt w/o Special Tool

So I'm getting ready to put my motor back together (H22A4) and I want to put the crank pulley back on. Only problem is I don't have the took to hold the pulley so that I can tighten the bolt.

I've read on a few places that I can remove the starter and use a pry bar to hold the flywheel in place while I tighten the crank pulley bolt. These people claim to do no damage, but I was wondering if anyone else had experience doing this?

Also, does anyone know of a different method?

Thanks in advance.
