Intake talk

Has there been dyno charts on the Injen short ram and the Aem V2? I used to have a Injen CAI and it came with a sheet stating Dyno tuned to like 12+hp but now I'm about to get a new intake for DD purposes. So I'm stuck between the Aem V2 and the Injen Short ram. The Injen is over $100 less. I was partial to my old Injen CAI. I loved the sound. I'm thinking hp wise the Injen SR and the V2 have to be like the same even with the V2 design. Plus the Injen is not massed produced like AEM

Well here I answered my own question.
Injen is BESTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT overall

The V2 might get the short ram Injen by a few but when the car's hot the Injen appears to be more consistant with its ability to hold power.

why spend that much money on a "brand name" lol. just bend the pipes and do it ur self and nice knk filter :-) im 100%sure u get good amount of horsepower and some tq. i would not spend that much money on a cold air system when u can make it ur own w/ nice filter.

i'm partial to injen based on my experience working with them. yet at the same time, 95h pretty much hit the nail on the head. with our cars, anyone can make an intake that frees up power. it's when you get into cars with fancy electronics (i use that term loosely) that will really differentiate the manufacturer.

This might sound dumb ESPECIALLY since the CAI cost me 2 motors, but I never wanted to put a bypass on it. Reason being b/c I couldnt see myself cutting a $300+ intake in half like that. (Seriously)

But curious, if a filter gets wet b/c of hitting a puddle, having something splashed on it, etc that filter is not going to perform has it orginally did, correct? Just curious b/c I would think that it wouldn't since the water would wrinkle up the filter combs.

I guess everyone is different bro. One really good thing about top name companies such has Injen (even AEM does this), there systems are carb excempt which means you don't have to worry about cops. Now mostly cops in Cali check out all this stuff, but you just NEVER know when cops in your own area will start doing check and give fix it tickets for this.... Also there's many different Imports out there. I wouldn't even know how to class everyone. Basically you got your "Ricers"; altezza's, Loud exhaust, etc. Your Clean guys who want to keep there imports clean and free of kits with the best parts they can get there hands on. This means 15"- 16" wheels, clean lights (no altezza's, jap lights), etc. The Auto X guys and gals who use these cars for what there main purpose was which is to drive em hard. You have your "JDM" peeps (probably can classify them under CLEAN) and over the Edge "JDM" peeps who even need to have a JDM ashtray to top things off All n all I personally fall under the "Clean (JDM)". But in my first 2 yrs I was a ricer, .

Enough said about that. They certainly do. They personally tuned there Intakes and Exhaust's versus just mass producing them.

to avoid hydro locking sink the clutch put the car in nuetral and let it roll. there is no consumption of air or water so to speak if your not giving the car gas.

you see a puddle, put car in nuetral, don't hit the gas, you won't suck up water....

Not true. The first time I didn't see the puddle so I had no chance to do that. I guess there was just a big crater in the road. The 2nd time I seen it and I knew the spot I was about to go over was a big spot so i did what you said BUT this puddle was so huge that I know part of the filter was in the puddle b/c when the car shut off about 40 ft after the puddle I pulled it over and got out and checked the filter and it was soaked. I unscrewed it and it was like a waterfall - haha. I don't know about anyone elses Injen but my filter sat about 5" off the ground. So it was low
