Branded Caliper Paint vs. High Temp Paint

I have everything pretty much off my car right now suspensionwise and figured I would get my calipers painted. I was just wondering what the differences are between High-Temp Paints you find at auto parts stores and home depots and caliper paint such as G2 brand. I want to kinda get a custom color going and they dont offer what I want. Also, does anybody have any pictures of their painted calipers along with what paint they used for them? Im hoping someone has gold. I wanna see the quality. Thanks All

There's no difference. As long as they are high heat resistant you're good. Go with Dupli-Color.

There are a few threads on this topic already.

Re: Branded Caliper Paint vs. High Temp Paint

My personal favourite is to do this --> How To Polish Your Brake Calibers

Paint quality isn't that important tbh mate. Remember that the calipers will be hiding behind a wheel and will always get covered with dust.

Custom colours can be done, but as you can expect will cost a bit more. See if you can find a rattle can that's already gold like I did. And as djp said, high temp paint won't be fundamentally different from the branded caliper paint.

Re: Branded Caliper Paint vs. High Temp Paint

I painted mine red(sorry not gold) over a year ago with Dupli-Color high temp paint.
Heres a picture. Still looks good after a year.

Those do look good. I bought some pre-painted blue calipers and they got so crappy after like 6 months. Yours still look like you just did them.

I want something that is not just plain gold. thats why I was asking for custom colors. It'll look sick when its done. Be ready for pics! Thanks for all the help
