different/rough idle. please help

so i did some fixing to my 4th gen a couple weeks back. i replaced spark plugs, spark plug cables, fuel injectors, and oil. so after all that was fixed my car was idling where it was supposed to. in the pdf manual it says the idle should be at 700rpm. now its idling above 1. wen i accelerate it feels like there is a backfire or misfire. wen i let off the gas, the rpms drop before 500rpm and it feels like the car is goin to shut off but then goes back to 1rpm. i checked and cleaned the spark plugs. wut could my problem be? all advice would be appreciated.

ya. there isnt a way how i can put them in the wrong order. but i checked the order anyways and its fine. its been acting like this before i cleaned the plugs. once my vtec kicks kicks in its fine but if i let off the gas and then accelerate again it begins to do it.

Re: different/rough idle. please help

ya they're all good. i woulda noticed if the o rings were bad. i think its the fuel injectors themselves. the car has been sittin for awhile with a full tank of fuel.....could that be the problem?

Re: different/rough idle. please help

90days is probably as long as you would want to let a tank of gas sit without adding a stabilizer to it.

Re: different/rough idle. please help

thats how i saw the car. it was sittin for awhile. i drained the fuel tank about 5 times to get all the old fuel water and rust from the tank. but could the rust that is in the tank be the reason why my car is struggling to get fuel or w.e the problem is?

Re: different/rough idle. please help

when was the last time you changed out the fuel filter? a clogged fuel filter will do funny things.

did you reset the ECU by disconnecting the battery for 30min. longshot but possibility.

resting ecu only takes about 15sec. by either dissconecting batt. or radio fuse

....did you make sure all of the injectors are lined up how they are supposed to be
have you tryed running a cleaner like seafoam maybe in the tank?

Re: different/rough idle. please help

Check yer PCV... And check yer IAC screw. If there is no silicone to hold it in place, the vibrations of the motor can turn it. If you had rust in the tank there is a pretty good chance it's still rusty in there. Do a fuel system cleaning and hope for the best. Yer injectors might be compromised from the rust as well. so hopefully the cleaner should help.
