Seperating Intake Manifold from the Head

So I took the head off my h22a4 with the intake manifold attached to it. Now that it is off, I want to separate the two. I removed all of the nuts holding the two together but they don't seem to want to separate.

I was actually amazed that I could lift both the intake manifold and the head off of the ground (with the nuts off) and the intake refused to budge.

I've tried using a block of wood and hammering the intake to try and shake it free, but it still won't budge.

Ideally, I would just pry the two apart but I don't particularly think that'd be a good idea.

Does anyone have any ideas on how I can get these two parts to separate?

Re: Seperating Intake Manifold from the Head

wow it should def not be that hard at all, somethings not right.

when i took off my IM w/ the engine still in the car, it almost fell right off. are you POSITIVE you got all the nuts??? none are hiding under the runners???

and since you already took the head off the block, it cant be that lower bracket. hmmmmm

There were actually 10 nuts.

I got fed up and took a pry bar to it and they separated relatively easy. Highlight of my day!
